JP “Arthur” Platt is a mixed media artist, muralist, and creator born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada. While art was always in the picture, many of those closest to Arthur never knew of his artistic abilities. It was something that, until recently, he kept to himself as an outlet for his thoughts and emotions in his quiet time alone. After a lifelong dedication to basketball ran it’s course in his early 20s, Arthur struggled to find his identity and passion while he worked in some of Las Vegas’ most famous hotels. In 2020, he left the corporate world and returned to school at UNLV to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Art. Today, Arthur has that degree and is a commissioned artist painting everything from canvas, to brick walls, to pianos…anything to which paint will adhere. His thoughtful and colorful combination of street art and fine art is like a breath of fresh air in an age where most artists seem to be doing their best impersonation of another for “Likes.” Using everything from oil paint to spray paint, there’s nothing he can’t do…”he’s dope and he just makes dope shit.”
